Midstint Racing is an amateur GT3 endurance sim racing team. Three drivers share one Porsche 911 GT3 R across endurance events on iRacing, and the season is documented publicly on YouTube and TikTok. The name points at the middle of the race, and so does the tagline: the race within the race.
A stint is the run a driver does between pit stops, and the mid-stint is its middle phase. That is where fatigue sets in, focus wavers and the quiet decisions get made. No dramatic start, no heroic finish. The team took its name from that stretch because it believes endurance races are won and lost there.
The three founders are Andy Aasheim, lead driver and the one who edits every video and records every voice-over; Matthias "Matti" Labeeuw, who built the brand and the strategy around the racing; and Nicolas "Nico" Labeeuw, the self-appointed boss. Bart Labeeuw, Jens Labeeuw and Jørgen Rydheim also drive with the team. Two countries, one team.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992), in the GT3 class: a 4.0-litre flat-six making around 565 horsepower. It is the team identity car and it carries a custom livery designed in-house. The approach is Porsche-first, which means learning one car deeply rather than switching to whatever happens to be quickest that week.
iRacing, exclusively. Every competitive race, every qualifying session, every practice run and the racing footage in every video comes from there. The team races on iRacing for its official endurance calendar, its licence and safety-rating system, and its support for multi-driver team entries with real driver swaps during a race.
Four recurring series carry the season: GT Endurance Series by Simucube for multi-class GT endurance, IMSA iRacing Series for multiclass prototype and GT racing, Global Endurance Tour for team endurance events worldwide, and the Nürburgring Endurance Championship. Races are picked around availability, because endurance racing alongside a day job rewards flexibility over a rigid schedule.
The headline targets are the endurance classics: the Bathurst 12 Hours at Mount Panorama, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the Watkins Glen 6 Hours. Spa is the closest thing the team has to a home race.
MIDSTINT TV on this site is the broadcast page. It carries the countdown to the next race, the live stream while the team is racing, and the latest longform videos. Everything also lives on the YouTube channel, with shorter clips on TikTok. Live endurance races are streamed on YouTube with the chat open.
No. Midstint Racing is an amateur team of normal people with day jobs, learning endurance racing and documenting it honestly. Nobody on the roster is a professional driver and the team makes no claim to be one. What gets published is the unglamorous middle of the race, not a highlight reel.
The driver line-up is closed, so the team does not take applications. Everyone is welcome in the community around it. The Discord server is open to anyone who wants race talk, behind-the-scenes material and community events, and comments on YouTube and TikTok are answered by the team itself rather than by a manager.
